Prism Powder Coatings-Sage PFW
All around us, metal objects that seem to
be painted are actually powder coated, an
environmentally friendly, long-lasting
technology that uses thermal-reactive
polymers, pigments, and curing agents.
You’ll find powder coating on the shelving in
big retail stores, on tractors and
lawnmowers, and on metal furniture. Many
of these coatings come from Prism Powder
Coatings in Ontario, Canada.
Prism typically produces custom orders,
with colors carefully matched to the coater’s
specifications. Orders can be as small as 55
pounds or large volume batch sizes. This
makes it difficult and time-consuming for
Prism to keep accurate records and produce
meaningful production reports—a problem
exacerbated by the antiquated DOS-based
manufacturing software it had been using.

CAPS Canada-Sage PFW
“We started our company with the
understanding that BatchMasterPFW™
would be our foundation.”
Dale Martin, CFO of CapsCanada
Corporation, had many years experience
using Platinum® for Windows by Best
financial software. The parent company
of CapsCanada had used BatchMaster for
DOS since its inception. So
BatchMasterPFW was the only system he
considered when the Windsor-area
capsule manufacturer was spun off as its
own entity in 2001.
“Our only issue was locating a
BatchMasterPFW business partner
nearby,” explains Martin. “Fortunately,
we found one of the most competent
and knowledgeable resellers in all of
Canada. Their partnership has been a key
ingredient in our system’s success.”

Business Server 2003 (SBS 2003) operating system to help
strengthen its overall IT resources. The weekly newspaper needed
to increase productivity, improve employee access, and protect its
business information. Using Microsoft Windows SharePoint™ Team
Services portal server, CJN set up an intranet site to improve
communication and collaboration between reporters; make
advertising virtually seamless; and strengthen the paper’s
relationships with the community. With the improved security,
performance, management and functionality of SBS 2003, CJN was
able to build a stable, more secure production structure that has
helped to increase productivity and collaboration throughout the
organization. Further, SBS 2003 has provided CJN with a lower
